FAQs

Check in for each location is 4pm. Check out for each location is 11am.

Yes, you may ask for an early check in or late check out time and we will try to accommodate you, depending upon our cleaner’s schedule. We do charge 75$/hour for any additional requests beyond 2 hours from your check-in/check-out times. This charge will be billed separately, depending upon when you ask for the early check-in/late checkout.

Each Haus has a separate cleaning fee. Please note the additional fee when booking.

The Catskills Mountainview Haus cleaning fee is $250 and the New Paltz Pool Haus is $200. At both properties, we take pride in each Haus being super clean for our guests and proper protocols for cleaning against viruses are in place. The cleaning fee covers the preparation for the next guest, washing of all bedding and towels.

Each Haus is vacuumed, mopped or steamed, and surfaces wiped or dusted prior to guest check-ins.  All cleaning supplies are a combination of green cleaning and traditional cleaning supplies. We ask our cleaners to focus on using bleach and anti-bacterial wipes and spray in bathrooms and the kitchen areas, as well as to wipe down doorknobs, lightswitches and remote controls, where germs may spread easily.

If guests see anything amiss or not appropriately cleaned upon arrival, we ask them to contact us immediately so it can be rectified for an enjoyable stay.

Guests can cancel  31 days or more, in advance without penalty. Guests may cancel 15-30 days in advance with a 50% refund. Guests may cancel  8-14 days in advance with a 25% refund. Within 0-7 days of arrival, guests will only receive a refund for the cleaning fee.

We recommend travelers look into travel insurance if they foresee the potential need to cancel.

Please inquire about this possibility upon booking. It shouldn’t be a problem in our New Paltz Haus, but depending upon the season, it may not be best for our Catskills Haus due to bears.

Our pool in our New Paltz Haus is all set up for guest enjoyment with a heater that is on a timer for 8 hours of heating per day, shutting off when the temperature reaches 82 degrees Fahrenheit. We have tested it out and find that the summer sun heats it nicely and keeps it as warm as 82 or warmer throughout the majority of the day, so guests can enjoy the water.

Since the heating system is on a timer, you can relax knowing that the the pool is comfortable for swimming any time of day in the summer.

Each Haus has basic toiletries for guest use. Each bathroom comes equipped with toilet paper, tissues, hand soap, and shampoo and conditioner, and each guest receives their own individualized bar of soap as well.

Please inquire if there is a specific app you are looking for before booking.

Our Catskills Mountainview Haus is located on the top of a gravel private road, and it is steep. We recommend guests have AWD or 4WD in winter and have the capability and confidence to drive in snow in mountain winter conditions. That being said, we have a contract with a plowing company for the entire private road, as well as our gravel driveway, and they come out when there is 4 inches of snow on the ground or more. Please note that if there is a large snowstorm, our plowing company may wait till the snow stops before arriving to plow. If there is less than 4 inches of snow on the ground, the road and driveway will not be plowed. We do have snow shovels next to our door for guest usage on our steps leading to the house and any snow shoveling you may wish to do to access your car. We also have installed a heating pad in front of our house door, essentially a 3’x4’ mat that melts the snow and allows easier access to our door.

Our New Paltz Pool Haus has a short driveway and deck with two steps that allow entrance to our porch/kitchen door. These main areas will be cleared in winter if there is more than 5 inches of snow on the ground. Again, it may be possible that someone will only come to clean at the end of the snow storm, if more than 5 inches are expected. Guests will also have access to snow shovels for their use on the deck, steps and to access their cars. In winter, the main entrance and walkway to the house is not maintained, as guests will access the house via the side entrance/deck and porch door.
